Gideon Leventhall-Airley
Gideon Leventhall-Airley serves as the operational head of the boys’ section at King David High School in Manchester, where his leadership and dedication have been pivotal in the success of the school. With a deep passion for education, he has held the position of head of history for 17 years, where he works with an innovative and reflective team of teachers developing and honing methods to engage students and enliven lessons. His expertise extends beyond the classroom, as he also serves as the deputy designated safeguarding lead, ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all students under his care.
Gideon is also a consultant with the BBC, contributing to both BBC Class Clips and BBC Teach programmes. His insights and experience have helped shape educational content that reaches wider audiences, demonstrating his dedication to enriching the learning experiences of students far beyond his own school. This expertise, combined with his innovative approach to education, has led to involvement in animation projects being nominated for BAFTA awards and consultancy with history filming, further underscoring his commitment to creative and impactful education.
A graduate of prestigious programmes at both the Imperial War Museum and Yad Vashem, Gideon has specialised knowledge and pedagogy in history and Holocaust education.
