For: Leaders, governors, trustees

Aim: This webinar will provide you with expert insight into, and practical advice on, how to develop, implement and deliver an action plan to demonstrate how you will meet failed standards from the independent school standards and EYFS framework, in line with DfE guidance and best practice.

Rationale: On 25 April 2023, the DfE published guidance on producing an action plan to meet independent school standards. Where independent schools are found to be failing standards, the Secretary of State can require the proprietor of the setting to submit an action plan for evaluation, setting out how the failings will be remedied. Failure to submit the plan can result in enforcement action.

Outcome 1:

Understanding the key purpose of the action plan, what the plan must include and initial steps to take when developing a structure

Outcome 2:

Recognising the importance of the action plan notice and how to use the inspection report as the basis for developing the steps you will take in your plan

Outcome 3:

Identifying how to identify the dates by which action should be met to allow for sufficient change and deciding on success criteria to meet the standards

Outcome 4:

Understanding what happens once the action plan has been submitted and evaluated and the process once a setting is found to meet the standards, or fails again

Outcome 5:

Identifying practical steps that can be taken to help develop and implement a successful action plan in line with DfE requirements that will drive improvement
