Aim: This webinar will provide advice and practical guidance on how best to engage parents and carers and manage their concerns during implementation of the compulsory RSHE curriculum from September 2020, in alignment with statutory guidance.

Rationale: The Relationships education, relationships and sex education (RSE) and health education 2019 statutory guidance states that schools must consult parents in developing and reviewing their policy in relation to relationships education and RSE; all schools should work closely with parents when planning and delivering these subjects, ensuring that parents know what will be taught and when;  and that parents are made aware that they can request that their child be withdrawn from some or all of sex education delivered as part of statutory RSE.
